Witness the spectacular bloom of Korea's largest plum blossom groves in Gwangyang, where thousands of white blossoms blanket the hillsides of Seomjin Village. Then step into the preserved charm of Jeonju Hanok Village, Korea's most authentic traditional architecture district, where every winding alley tells a story of Korean heritage. This guided day trip from Seoul combines two of Korea's most magical spring destinations in one unforgettable journey.

Your morning begins with a comfortable pickup from central Seoul — choose from Hongik University Station, Myeongdong, or Dongdaemun — before the scenic drive west toward Gwangyang. The gentle sway of the coach as you leave the city behind builds anticipation. Soon, the hillsides come alive with a stunning sight: thousands of pale white plum blossoms (maehwa) shimmering like snow against green branches. The air carries the delicate, floral sweetness of the bloom, and the landscape is transformed into a canvas of gentle whites and soft greens.
At Gwangyang Maehwa Festival, you'll wander beneath the historic plum blossom trees, some generations old. Stop at local farm stalls to taste fresh plum wine, sample organic plum teas, and purchase artisanal plum products made by farmers who've tended these orchards for decades. Photography opportunities abound — silhouetted branches framing distant mountains, petals drifting across pathways, the timeless beauty of spring's first major bloom.
After lunch in the village, you'll continue eastward to Jeonju Hanok Village, where you're transported back several centuries. Narrow brick lanes wind between traditional wooden houses with curved tile roofs and latticed windows. The scent of traditional Korean street food — hotteok (sweet red bean pancakes), tteokbokki, grilled skewers — fills the air. Browse family-owned craft shops, galleries, and tea houses. By evening, you return to Seoul with the quiet majesty of spring and Korea's cultural soul in your heart.

"The plum blossoms were absolutely breathtaking — like something from a painting. We walked through Seomjin Village and the farmer selling plum wine was so friendly. Then Jeonju Hanok was magical. Every corner looked like a postcard. Our guide told stories about the house histories and families. We felt like we were stepping into Korea's past." — Emma T., London, United Kingdom
"I'm a photographer and this tour was a dream. The light through the plum blossoms in the morning was incredible, and Jeonju's narrow brick lanes made perfect compositions. The staff were patient while I took photos and even suggested the best angles. Worth every won!" — David K., Sydney, Australia
"We came with our two children and they loved it. The open festival feel at Gwangyang meant the kids could run around safely with so many snack vendors. In Jeonju, the tea houses were cozy. The tour was educational without feeling like school — our kids are already asking when we can go back." — Lisa & Michael P., Toronto, Canada
